Saurabh Srivastava Chairman, Indian Angel Network

 


Saurabh Srivastava is the Chairman of Indian Angel Network. He is the Cofounder and past Chairman of NASSCOM, NASSCOM Foundation and the Indian Venture Capital Association, Chairman Emeritus of TIE Delhi-NCR (was on the global board of TiE) on the National Executive Committees FICCI (was also on CII Exec Committee).

He has worked in the US and India for IBM and headed the Tata Unisys software operations before becoming an entrepreneur, founding several successful IT companies. He has since founded/invested in over 50 start-up ventures and serves in a non-exec capacity on boards of both private and publicly listed companies in the UK, Singapore and India such as YES Bank, Naukri.com, Xchanging plc.

He co-founded India's first Venture Capital fund in the private sector, Infinity, which created companies such as India Bulls and Avendus. He also founded the Indian Angel Network (IAN), India's first and possibly the world’s largest business angel group with over 350 members. He serves / has served on several government committees / task forces / boards such as the National Innovation Council, Indo EU Round Table, Software Technology Parks of India, Planning Commission’s Committee on “Creating a Vibrant Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in India”, IT Ministry’s Committee on software exports, Planning Commission and SEBI Committees on Venture Capital, National and State VC Funds, Media Lab Asia, Railway Expert Committee, CSIR Tech Ltd (set up by the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research to commercialize its technologies), Government’s Multimodal Transport Task Force and Task Forces for two of India's largest states, UP and Bihar. Recently, he was appointed as a member of the Committee set up by the BJP govt. to examine the Financial Structure of the MSME Sector.

He is a co-founder of Ashoka University and serves/has served on the Advisory Boards of Imperial College Business School, London and Uttarakhand and Himachal Universities in India and on the Entrepreneurship board of IIT Kanpur. He has a Masters from Harvard University and a B Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur and an Honorary Doctorate in Technology from the University of Wolverhampton, UK.
